Important distinction
What this method does
This avoids Meta's account-level Developer Mode flow. It still enables Android Developer Options, USB debugging, and Wireless Debugging directly on the headset.
- Start with the headset powered off, if possible
- Have control of the headset's internet connection
- Confirm your exact firmware build is supported
- Back up anything you cannot replace
- Read all 17 steps before beginning
Before powering on
Keep the headset from updating
The source instructions provide two ways to get the headset online long enough to prepare it without immediately accepting a patched firmware update.
If you can change your router settings
Open the project's host-blocking list and block the listed telemetry hosts. The source identifies graph.oculus.com as update-related, while noting that updates may also come from other locations. If you do not plan to use the Store, it also suggests blocking the store and entitlement hosts. Disconnect the router from the internet, power on the headset, and turn off every automatic-update option before restoring internet access.
If you cannot change your router settings
Disconnect or unplug the internet connection before powering on the headset. Turn every automatic-update toggle off before reconnecting the internet and continuing.
Confirm automatic updates are off
Open Settings > Software Update and verify that all automatic-update options are switched Off.
Install entirely in-headset
Download and open Singularity
Download Singularity in the headset browser
Open the headset's internet browser and download the APK from the Singularity release. The community instructions specifically reference this release.
Install the APK
Open the Files app, then select Downloads. Locate the downloaded APK file, click the 3-dot menu, and select "Open with...", and then Package Installer.
Open Android Settings
One installed, open Singularity from Unknown Sources (or search in the app drawer), then choose Apps/Modules and open Android Settings.
Hidden Android settings
Enable local debugging
Unlock Android Developer Options
Scroll to About headset, scroll to the bottom, and tap Build number repeatedly. A small toast message should confirm that you are now a developer.
Turn on USB and Wireless Debugging
Go back, open System > Developer Options, then enable USB debugging and Wireless Debugging. Wireless Debugging is slightly indented in the list.
Generate a pairing code
Select the Wireless Debugging heading itself, then choose Pair device with pairing code.
Two different ports
Pair and connect Singularity
Enter the six-digit pairing code
Enter the code in Singularity's Pairing code field. If you skipped the setup screen and cannot see that field, restart Singularity from the app list: open the left menu—the three dots and lines beneath Search—and choose Untrusted Sources.
Enter the temporary pairing port
Beneath the pairing code, find IP address & port. It should resemble 192.168.0.x:PORT. Copy only the value after the colon (:) into Singularity's Pairing Port field.
Pair the device
Select Pair Device in Singularity.
Read the second port
Return to the main Wireless Debugging screen—the screen where you selected the pairing option. Find its other IP address & port value. This one is different. Copy the number after the colon.
Complete setup
Use that second port value in Singularity, then select Complete Setup.
Run the exploit
Root and reopen Singularity
Select Root Now
Select Root Now. The headset may briefly behave erratically while the exploit runs; leave it alone and allow the process to finish.
Reopen Singularity
From the app list, open the left menu—the three dots and lines beneath Search—then choose Untrusted Sources and reopen Singularity.
Enable Run on boot
Turn on Run on boot in Singularity.
Keep the vulnerable firmware
Disable telemetry and updates
Configure AIO Tweaks
Open AIO Tweaks > Utils. Turn on Disable Meta telemetry and Disable the update engine.

The original instructions invite users who need help to DM @veusepe. This version reorganizes the method into a structured web guide. Interface labels are preserved from the original instructions and may vary slightly by headset or app version.
This method is separate from the standard Developer Mode guide and should be treated as experimental until it has been more broadly verified.
